Welcome to the project website of "The Politics of Portfolio Design in European Democracies"

PortDes is a project aiming to understand and explore the causes and consequences of portfolio design reforms in Europe. We examine ten West European Democracies from 1970 to 2020, with the support of a team of country experts – all leading scholars in the field who possess the necessary detailed knowledge on country-specific politics on portfolio design.

Workshop held in Vienna

The project held a workshop on 19 and 20 June 2024, and counted with 14 participants, who presented the current status of their research chapters that will compose the edited volume.
