Welcome to the project website of "The Politics of Portfolio Design in European Democracies"

PortDes is a project aiming to understand and explore the causes and consequences of portfolio design reforms in Europe. We examine ten West European Democracies from 1970 to 2020, with the support of a team of country experts – all leading scholars in the field who possess the necessary detailed knowledge on country-specific politics on portfolio design.

Workshop held in Vienna

The project held a workshop on 19 and 20 June 2024 at the University of Vienna, and counted with 14 participants, who presented the current status of their research chapters that will compose the edited volume.
